26th Annual Meeting of the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading

Sean McCarron, Aki-Juhani Kyröläinen, Kelly Nisbet, Melda Coskun, Gaisha Oralova, Victor Kuperman and Nadia Lana presented at the 26th Annual Meeting of the Society for the Scientific Study of Reading took place in Toronto from Wednesday, July 17 to Saturday, July 20. 
Sean McCarron presented his work about the Author Recognition Test – is it a reliable proxy for reading proficiency in both native & non-native speakers?

Aki-Juhani Kyröläinen presented “Orthographic representations and orthographic competition: The role of spelling errors in language processing.”

Kelly Nisbet presented her work about the factors that influence reaching native-like proficiency in English.

Melda Coskun presented her work on the effects of selective attention on novel word learning.

Gaisha Oralova presented “What an incorrect use of a character tells us about the organization of Chinese mental lexicon: a combined EEG and eye-tracking study.”

Nadia Lana presented “Emotionality of context facilitates L1 and L2 explicit word learning: An eye tracking study.”

Victor Kuperman presented “Landing positions of eye-fixations reveal structural differences between writing systems: Evidence from English, German, Hebrew, and Russian.”
