Dr. Rui Rothe-Neves visits the Reading Lab and ARiEAL

We were pleased to host Dr. Rui Rothe-Neves (Phonetics Lab, Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil) for a week-long visit to the Reading Lab in June!

In addition to meeting with lab members to discuss ongoing projects, Dr. Rothe-Neves delivered a talk at the ARiEAL Research Centre titled “Acoustic analyses of speech production in Parkinson’s Disease.” 

His presentation highlighted collaborative work between UFMG’s Phonetics Lab and the Laboratoire Parole et Language (University of Aix-Marseille, France) examining acoustic features of hypokinetic dysarthria in Portuguese and French speakers with Parkinson’s disease.
